SC Republicans Warn Supporters Not to Take Red-State Status for Granted

GOP: South Carolina Republicans

Wilson Warns Republicans Not to Assume South Carolina Stays Red

At an Oct. 1st Republican campaign event in Pickens County, gubernatorial nominee Alan Wilson warned supporters not to assume South Carolina will remain Republican. He cited Democrats’ efforts to contest races across the state and urged attendees to each recruit 10 additional people to vote in November. The underlying concern is supported by the Democratic candidate roster, which lists candidates for all seven congressional districts, statewide offices and State House districts across South Carolina.

Democrats Expand Candidate Slate as GOP Focuses on Turnout

For the first time in more than 50 years, Democrats are running candidates in all 124 South Carolina State House districts, and for the first time in 32 years, they are contesting every constitutional statewide office. Democrats are also competing in every U.S. House district, giving voters a Democratic option across the state.

About

SC GOP Tracker keeps tabs on what South Carolina Republican elected officials, candidates and political leaders are saying, doing and putting on the record.

We gather publicly available statements, votes, policy positions, interviews, social media posts, news coverage and other source material, then bring it together in one place with relevant context.

Each Tracker Entry is built to be clear, easy to follow and easy to verify — with links to the original reporting, public records, video, social posts or other supporting sources whenever possible.

The idea is simple: you shouldn’t have to dig through dozens of websites, news stories and social media feeds to keep up with what South Carolina Republicans are saying and doing.

As new statements, votes, policies and developments emerge, SC GOP Tracker will keep adding to the record.
